It is expected that in the next few months, there will also be mid-to-high-end pure electric long-range models such as TSLA (Shanghai) Model 3/High-performance AWD Model 3, SAIC Roewe Ei6 (ER6), BAIC ARCFOXαT/Pole Fox MARK5, etc. Listed, the 600km club is constantly expanding.

In fact, when the cruising range of pure electric vehicles reaches 600km, consumers' "endurance anxiety" has been significantly weakened. It is precisely because of this that car companies and battery companies have been working in this direction in recent years.

To improve the battery life of electric vehicles, in the final analysis, we must start from the battery. In the past two years, in order to improve the energy density of batteries, battery production companies and research institutions have either started from the material itself, developed and applied NCM811 batteries, or innovated the battery pack structure, using CTP or blade technology. In addition, the battery packaging form is also the focus of some companies to improve, such as the use of soft package packaging structure, making the battery pack energy density higher.

No matter which technical dimension is adopted, the final mass production of power lithium battery products with high safety and high energy density requires profound technical strength. 1. More than half of the models equipped with CATL battery

From the perspective of battery manufacturers, CATL currently supports the most models with a range of more than 600km (inclusive), and 5 of the 10 models are equipped with CATL batteries (SAIC Times is a joint venture between CATL and SAIC); LG Chem and Nortel There are 2 models of Aisite (subordinate to SKI), 1 model each of Yiwei Lithium Energy, AVIC Lithium Battery, and Fudi Battery (BYD's battery company).

Among them, CATL, Fudi Battery, Yiwei Lithium Energy, and AVIC Lithium Battery are domestic battery production companies, and LG Chem and SKI are Korean battery production companies. It can be seen that in the domestic long-range models, domestic and foreign battery production companies have supporting, but overall, CATL is still relatively strong, supporting half of the models.

From the perspective of pure electric passenger car models with a cruising range of 600km, the most important ones are B-class and C-class cars, and only SAIC Roewe Ei6 is A-class car. This also shows that B-class and C-class vehicles can reserve enough space for the battery pack to increase the charge of the whole vehicle. 2. NCM811 batteries become mainstream in long-range models

From the perspective of the battery material system, the current long-life models are mainly based on ternary batteries, and there is only one lithium iron phosphate (Fudi battery), which also shows that in high-end long-life passenger car models, ternary batteries are still is mainstream.

In the ternary system, the NCM811 battery material system is mainly used. For example, CATL's batteries for GAC AionLX/V, Xiaopeng P7, Hechuang 007, and Roewe Ei6 are all NCM811 batteries. In addition, the batteries for upcoming models supplied by LG Chem for TSLA (Shanghai) Model 3 and SKI for BAIC are also NCM811 batteries.

Because the packaging structure of LG Chem NCM811 battery is cylindrical, the energy density of the battery pack system is low, only 161Wh/kg; CATLNCM811 batteries are all square batteries, and the system energy density is in the range of 170Wh/kg~180.1Wh/kg; With the package structure, the system energy density reaches 191.72Wh/kg and 194.12Wh/kg respectively.
