New Breakthrough in Fuel Power Cell Technology in the United States -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment

Dr. Mohammad Enayetullah, a fuel cell expert, demonstrated Trenergi's 1 kilowatt fuel cell to a group of investors.

Trenergi, a fuel cell developer based in Massachusetts, recently demonstrated its breakthrough 1kW fuel cell prototype to a group of investors.

It has a completely different design from most existing fuel cells. Now it can use existing fuels (natural gas, gasoline, diesel, methanol, ethanol) to generate electricity, heat and hot water on site.

"Our fuel cell represents a significant leap in existing technology," said Norman F Strategy. "It achieves an unparalleled level of efficiency and has the advantage of being able to operate on almost all available hydrocarbons. Our fuel cells represent a bridge to a cleaner, safer energy future“

Trenergi adopts the patented high-temperature proton exchange membrane plus (HTPEM+) design. This design marks a significant improvement in the design of HTPEM, which used BASF materials to make films. Dr. Mohammad Enayetullah, the chief technology officer of the company, has written or co wrote more than 10 fuel cell patents. They have made significant progress in membrane electrode technology, which has higher power density and lower manufacturing costs compared with what can be achieved before. It also has greater tolerance to impurities, allowing fuel cells to operate with readily available fuels (such as propane, natural gas, and even diesel fuel (jp8)) instead of high-purity hydrogen required by old fuel cell technologies.

Trenergi has also developed a 3kW fuel cell prototype that has been sold to an important specialty contractor for testing as part of a distributed energy system or mobile defense application.

As Trenergi's system operates at high temperatures, it can generate not only electricity, but also heat and hot water. As a result, it can operate at up to 90% energy efficiency. Compared with natural gas for power generation and natural gas for hot water heating, Trenergi's fuel cells save up to 44% of energy consumption. Compared with ordinary coal power plants in the United States, it has reduced climate change emissions by more than 60%, and compared with ordinary natural gas power plants in the United States, it has reduced emissions by 45%. The durability of this system is three times higher than that of competitors' solid oxide and low-temperature PEM fuel cells.

The 1kW unit can generate 24kWh of electricity every day - equivalent to 80% of the average household electricity consumption in the United States - about 160 gallons of hot water per day, saving about 44% of the cost. Trenergi will build fuel cells with power up to 100kW.

These fuel cells can operate independently or as part of the micro grid, providing power, heat and hot water for residential, commercial, emission reduction and special applications in developed and developing countries, with almost unlimited scope.

"Trenergi is expected to build the next generation of higher power density demonstration devices and make reference designs for local strategic partners," said Strategy.
