Israeli lithium battery fast charging technology -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment
Oil giant BP said recently that its venture capital fund has invested $20 million in Israeli company StoreDot. StoreDot has developed a battery system that can charge an electric car in the same amount of time it takes to fill a gas tank.
BP Ventures said the investment is part of a push to develop electric vehicle technology and infrastructure.
Tufan Erginbilgic, CEO of BP Downstream, said: "Ultra-fast charging is at the heart of the company's electrification strategy. We are committed to being the fuel supplier of choice, no matter what vehicle our customers drive."
StoreDot, which raised $60 million from Daimler last September, developed an ultra-fast charger for phones before expanding into cars. StoreDot says its lithium-ion battery technology can fully charge an electric vehicle in five minutes.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)
